dc.description.abstract | The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C 15H 10Br 2O 3, consists of three crystallographically independent mol-ecules (A, B and C). The phenyl rings in mol-ecules A, B and C make dihedral angles of 6.1 (3), 3.2 (2) and 54.6 (2) to each other, respectively. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into two-dimensional layers parallel to the ab plane by inter-molecular C - H?O hydrogen bonds. The crystal structure is further stabilized by C - H?? inter-actions. The studied crystal is an inversion twin, the refined ratio of the twin components being 0.128 (8):0.872 (8).
